Chairman Wen-Yu Chen of Known-You Seed Co. Ltd. set up Grand Biotechnology Co. Ltd. in Hsinchu Science Park Taiwan in July 1989.
Since Mr.Wen-Yu Chen expected traditional propagation culture skill would hard to compete with USA, Japan and Holland at that time. Then he collaborated with G.J.Ball HortiCulture Inc. USA with 80 years propagation culture experience and famous at flower bed and herb in plants industry, Miyoshi & CO. Ltd. JPN with plants development 40 years experience and Tomen Corporation has 150 points of sale worldwide.
Base on outstanding business scale of each collaborator who joined forces and introduced advanced biological technology, expanded research and development, good plants propagation culture technology utilized, fast and mass production good plants with high tech factory, marketing over 30 countries five continents throughout global and work for plants industry service worldwide.
1999 The original shareholder of Grand Biotechnology Co. Ltd. transferred part of stock rights to Taiwan Flower Biotechnology Co. Ltd. and Taiwan Flower Biotechnology Co. Ltd. it become the main shareholder also assigned Mr. Hon-Yen Zhao be the general manager of Grand Biotechnology Co. Ltd. until now. There are administration, production and R&D main departments which production, R&D dept. with each shareholder own R&D staff around-the-world collaborated closely at new plant variety and technology leaded. We produced fastly, strong production scale and supplied high quality output compareable with horticultural export pioneer Holland.
2000 Successfully developed Phalaenopsis propagation culture production management skill independent, virus detection skill with Academia Sinica and Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute, started OEM high quality Phalaenopsis propagation culture for Holland to supply Europe market directly. Nowadays, our Phalaenopsis goods by 70% the mass of production and 80% among of that exported to Holland and marketed Taiwan's Phalaenopsis varieties to foreign company for Taiwan Phalaenopsis breeder. Also allied with Taiwan Phalaenopsis breeder set up a global Phalaenopsis supply chain.
We have 6 floors shelf, 5640 square meter space, 11 breed rooms, 940 square meter space. The production and shipment satisfied Southern Hemisphere and Northern Hemisphere opposite climate condition and a global marketing net that meet customer demand for shipping time and plan production products. Now our production capacity is 7 million seedlings, the current annual output is about 6.5 million seedlings.
